What does a women's life coach do?

A women's life coach offers a structured, supportive space to help you gain clarity, deepen self-trust, and align your choices with your inner values. At OnWord Journeys, coaching is a reflective process of emotional attunement, self-worth exploration, and embodied self-discovery, guided by the OnWord Compass Method.

How is life coaching different from therapy?

Therapy is a licensed clinical practice that often explores past trauma, mental health diagnoses, and psychological treatment. Life coaching is generally present- and future-focused: it supports you in building awareness, releasing limiting patterns, and taking aligned action. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, and Stacey is happy to work alongside your existing therapeutic support.

What is the OnWord Compass Method?

The OnWord Compass Method is a five-step self-guided framework created by Stacey Barnes to help women reconnect with their inner wisdom and live more authentically. The five steps are: Pause and Presence, Self-Awareness and Attunement, Inner Truth and Voice, Trust and Worth, and Integration and Living Authentic. It is available as a self-paced online course for $222.

Do you offer virtual coaching sessions?

Yes. All 1:1 coaching sessions at OnWord Journeys are held virtually via Zoom, welcoming women from anywhere in the world. Sessions are available as a single 45-minute session ($150) or as a four-session package ($540).

Addiction and the Family: Loving Someone You Cannot Save

A personal reflection on addiction, abandonment, grief, family systems, and the difficult healing of releasing someone’s outcome

I am very familiar with addiction. I know the hurt, the pain, the confusion, the abandonment, and the heartbreak addiction causes loved ones.

My sister and I grew up with addiction in our family system, and we experienced firsthand the ways addiction can fracture a family—especially the innocent hearts of children. If I were to name the deepest imprint addiction left on me, it would be abandonment. That is the truest wound I know in the depths of my core from loving someone affected by addiction.
